Before you worry about aftermarket consumables voiding your warranty, ask the more basic question: were your consumables ever under warranty in the first place?

Consumables are, by definition, wear items: they're designed to be used up and replaced constantly for the life of the machine. Manufacturers do not write their warranties to be friendly to aftermarket parts. Read a real plasma cutter warranty and you'll typically find language stating that genuine parts are the factory-recommended replacements, that damage caused by non-genuine parts may not be covered, and often that using non-genuine parts can be treated as "misuse" of the product. There's usually also a broad exclusion for any machine that's been "incorrectly installed, modified, or otherwise damaged."
That's real, and you should know it going in. But notice what that language still does and doesn't say: it ties non-coverage to damage the part causes and to misuse — not to a blanket "any aftermarket part anywhere voids everything." The causation link is still the hinge. Which brings us to the one rule that actually protects you.
The rule that actually protects you: run quality, not junk
This is not a blanket "aftermarket never affects your warranty, run whatever you want." It's specifically the case for running quality, engineered aftermarket consumables — parts built to match the OEM spec.
If you run a cheap, badly-made clone and it does cause damage — it fails catastrophically, sends debris into the torch, runs an arc it was never built to handle — then that damage is on you, and a manufacturer would be right to point at it. That's exactly the "misuse" scenario the warranty language is written for. A junk part that genuinely causes a failure is a completely different situation from a quality part that runs to spec.
So the question that matters isn't "OEM or aftermarket?" It's "is this a quality part built to spec, or a gamble?" An engineered aftermarket consumable that matches the genuine part's geometry, emitter, and fit — and runs on your existing cut chart with no change — carries the same real-world risk profile as the genuine part, because functionally it is the same part. A mystery-box clone doesn't, and that's the one that gets you in trouble.

Don't pay the fear premium on a misunderstanding. Your consumables generally weren't under warranty to begin with, and running a quality aftermarket wear part that matches spec and runs to the OEM's own settings can't reasonably be blamed for a machine failure it didn't cause.
